. . . until the calamity
— in the darkness i saw my name will be destroyed;
... and i asked beyond all things not to be forgotten.
— i will live to see tomorrow;
... and i cannot say the same for you.

* vespin is a critical role npc; the original setting for his story is in exandria. however, i've set him up to be flexible / adaptable and can easily drop him in other official dnd, homebrew, or fantasy settings. also very au friendly, love a collaborative worldbuilding.
BE WARNED . . .
// this blog contains MATURE THEMES / CONTENT ; potentially disturbing and upsetting subject may occur, including but not limited to ( and will be tagged as ) ...
gore
excessive blood cw
body horror cw *
flaying cw *
physical abuse cw *
psychological abuse cw *
mind control cw *
* these are mostly things that happen to vespin as he transforms between his fiendish and humanoid body, being tormented by asmodeus for his transgression. i don't imagine writing these things too graphically all too often, but it is a part of his existence now. when this is described it will be tagged accordingly. but if the mention or reference of torture and abuse alone troubles you, this may not be the blog for you.
BUT REST ASSURED . . .
// i acknowledge that vespin is classified as a VILLAIN* and has a reputation in exandria's lore post-calamity; in life, he is a powerful wizard ( at least 18th level ), and in death a formidable fiend who does asmodeus' bidding.
*i will dispute that from a character standpoint but his function in the story wise, it is what it is.// HOWEVER, you can rest assured that i am not interested power play, and am much more invested in the narrative exploration of a man who made a terrible mistake and is living out the consequences of his own arrogance.// any potentially dangerous or harmful ic interactions will be discussed / plotted ooc before proceeding.
PREMISE . . .
. . . as a fiend, vespin has no free will and is fully subject to the command of his master asmodeus. however, [ headcanon starts ] with his soul intact, if asmodeus so wishes, vespin could be granted temporary clarity and agency, even his once humanoid form. this is usually done so he could complete certain tasks for asmodeus on the material plane. in this form he is sometimes given the alias victor by asmodeus as a mockery for his once arrogance and his legacy as one of the greatest villains of exandria.his primary goal / motivation is to find a way to break free of asmodeus' control, while being extremely careful with his approach because the devil god's claws are deep in him, and there is no telling if asmodeus, the father of lies, is sending him on these excursions with temporary freedom as a trap or a test.
WHAT NOW . . .
considering vespin is, essentially, immortal now, i can slot him into any timeline or campaign as the left hand of asmodeus, who's granted temporary freedom and humanoid form by his master to walk the material plane for some undisclosed purpose. we can plot what his mission is, or i can bring in one of my stock ideas.i enjoy plotting as well as winging it / improvising for surprise discoveries. either way, i'm very open to writing vespin as an antagonist, ally, frienemy, etc in your character's story.
* baldur's gate iii verse: a devil npc that can be recruited from avernus during the emergency landing by using tadpole power to break him free from asmodeus' control.
THE SCRIBE . . .
// SOMMER . . . 30+ . he / him . queer poc .
// i have a weird schedule and my activity reflects that ; there's never pressure or a timeline to reply to my dms, threads, or asks quickly, or at all !// i use new editor.
CHARACTER CREATION . . .
vespin chloras is a npc from the critical role exandria campaign settings. first officially appeared in exandria unlimited: calamity as a plot device turned ( briefly ) ally turned final boss. i've taken that single appearance of him and run the hell with it since 2022. left hand and thrall of asmodeus. born human, made devil. wizard ( conjuration ) 18; cleric ( war ) 2. history's greatest villain; accidentally freed the betrayers from their cage and brought about the calamity.— baldur's gate iii verse: a devil npc that can be recruited from avernus during the emergency landing by using the tadpole power to break him free from asmodeus' control.loras of the weaver's mask is a npc from the critical role miniseries exandria unlimited: calamity as a minor antagonist. there is very little canon information about him. 90% of his background and details of his character featured here are my own. formerly at weavermasked. time displaced chronomancer. wood elf. druid 1; wizard ( transmutation ) 15-18. teleported himself into the future to escape the calamity and broke his magic.— baldur's gate iii verse: a druid pc who would rather be a wizard. survived the shipwreck with a tadpole in his head and is increasingly drawn into his new psychic powers.other characters include: sukree, elven rune monk oc with a shortened lifespan, living fast and dying young; elladan and elrohir, lotr ported dusk elf twins, druid ranger and druid fighter.
GUIDELINES . . .
standard rp etiquette applied.
i feel like this should go without saying but for here is your explicit permission to curate your rp experience guilt-free: if i follow you and you don't see us interacting or just not feeling the vibe, please feel 0 pressure to follow back. only follow if you are comfortable and excited to do so.
generally if i follow someone and they don't follow back in a week or so i will get the hint and unfollow. feel free to unfollow anytime as well. no hard feelings. even if you change your mind later and decide to follow after all or refollow, i promise you 9/10 times it's not awkward ( unless you're doing something weird; but you wouldn't do that, would you? i believe in you ).
shipping is fun when there is chemistry and plotting; vespin is gay and loras is an equal opportunity life ruiner. bearing in mind that they are both ancient ( vespin is over 800 and loras 300 ) and broken, mentally and physically.
occasional nsfw content may occur and be put under cut and/or tagged as #explicit cw. suggestive content are tagged as #suggestive cw.
i do not plan on having any "real life" face claims. icon and banner image used to represent vespin are of melkor from tolkein's lore by melkomelko. i also draw them myself posted under the tag here.
askbox and dms are open for ic and ooc communication with mutuals. if anything feels unclear or erroneous, feel free to reach out.
MISCELLANEOUS . . .
vespin and loras are both powerful characters in the lore but that's far from the most interesting thing about their stories to me. they're pathetic hot messes. that's the story. wizards and their problems. rest assured that i will NOT let either of them randomly do shitty things to your character without talking to you first. rather more intense the dynamic the more discussion there shall be.
one character whose power IS important is asmodeus. he is deeply connected to vespin's story and mentioned often. he's a literal devil god, a sincere threat and cruel master of vespin's life not to be easily overcome, if at all. it's best to think of asmodeus as a condition vespin is afflicted with rather than an enemy one can beat.
